At American Academy, we provide positive learning experiences for each student. Our small classes are taught by educators who create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment for children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and mild auditory processing disorders. We help each student overcome past failures and frustrations by carefully designing curriculum and activities that lead to a love of learning and academic success.
A vital step in learning is being able to process and comprehend language. For that reason, every classroom is equipped with an audio enhancement sound system. The microphone, worn by the teacher, enables instruction to be heard from anywhere in the classroom. This technology is considered a best practice for students with Auditory Processing Disorders and ADHD.
We believe that students with mild learning disabilities can benefit greatly from a well-rounded program that develops creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, executive functions, and sportsmanship.
