Students receive instruction in a variety of ways. At American Academy, ESE certified teachers have the knowledge and experience with with various learning disabilities, and ability to modify curriculum and instruction based on the student’s academic needs and summative assessments. The class size is 12 students, one certified teacher, and one full-time teacher assistant, for grades K-5.

Our experienced Reading Specialists are highly skilled and well trained in teaching students struggling with phonemic awareness and learning comprehension. All students are formally assessed each quarter to identify progress in targeted areas.
Students (6-12) at American Academy continue to gain reading instruction within each academic subject as well as through their Literature in the Arts classes.
