Admissions Department

Students accepted to The American Academy Program typically have learning differences that have been identified and have prevented them from experiencing academic success. The American Academy is limited to students who are average to gifted in intelligence with mild learning differences such as ADHD, processing deficits, dysgraphia, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. Our educational goal for all students enrolled in The American Academy is to strengthen cognition, memory, decision-making, and learning. Our highly-qualified teachers and Reading Specialists work together to help each student become readers, seekers of knowledge, and lifetime learners.

The admissions process begins with an application and submission of all pertinent data regarding the student including a psycho-educational battery less than three years old, teacher recommendations, report cards, and any individualized educational plans for the student.

We administer entrance exams to all prospective students to determine placement. The results of these entrance exams are discussed with parents at a conference following the testing.

Students are admitted without regard to race, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or national origin.
