Lower School Explanation of Fees
In an effort to simplify the billing process, we have consolidated all school fees, and you will be billed once in late June. The $1,000 Flat School Fee will cover the following:
Grade 6 Digital Textbooks, Content, & Course Materials: This fee covers all digital content including digital textbooks and online programs. This fee also covers all other classroom and lab materials used during the year. You may also be required to purchase a limited number of print books through our online bookstore.
Grades K-5: This fee covers some digital content including digital textbooks and online programs. This fee also covers all other classroom and lab materials/consumables used during the year. You will need to purchase print textbooks, workbooks, and novels through our online bookstore.
Grades PK-K: This fee covers consumable and course materials used throughout the year.
PTO Dues and Classroom Party Fees: Lower School students have six classroom parties per year organized by the PTO. Each lower school student is also charged annual dues that are included in this fee.
Technology: This covers computer licenses for database subscriptions, which students can access on campus and from home. Included are student subscriptions such as: STAR, Mystery Science, Freckle, Discovery Education, and all online textbook platforms. Funds are also used to maintain current hardware and software needs to support teaching and learning across campus or from home and provide for campus-wide broadband Wi-Fi.
Security: Includes safety enhancements. Among these are: the addition of two (2) armed police officers and two (2) armed full-time security staff on the premises during school days; the additional security staff for the checkpoint areas for the backpack protocol; the installation of perimeter fencing with self-contained alarm and camera system; the construction of a security office including the latest surveillance equipment; installation of bullet resistant glass in all doors and classrooms; expert training in self-defense for all faculty members; purchasing of trauma kits for all classrooms and expert training for all faculty in the use of these kits; purchase of card swipe for electronic access to all elevators and exterior building entrances.
Additional fees you might see on your monthly statement include but are not limited to bus, cafeteria, PE tennis/soccer, tutoring, speech, spirit wear, lost library books, lost sports uniforms and extended care charges. In Class SAT/ACT Prep
In an effort to provide the very best SAT/ACT Prep to our students, American Heritage Schools provides 20 minutes of classwork per week in high school math and English classes. Students also receive access to the online App for at home practice. Over the course of three years, students will receive over 60 hours of test preparation.
Activities
Students receive a yearbook and a school ID. This also covers PTO dues, and free admission to or online viewing of regular season on-campus athletic events and all Fine Arts productions.

Funds are also used to maintain current hardware and software needs to support teaching and learning across campus and provide for campus-wide broadband Wi-Fi.
Graduation (12th grade)
All costs associated with graduation are covered including cap and gown (which students will keep), nine tickets, diploma and cover, and links to senior videos and graduation.
PSAT (9th - 11th grade only)
All students in grades 9-11 take the PSAT in October. This fee covers registration and proctoring costs.
Additional fees you might see on your monthly statement include but are not limited to bus, cafeteria, PE tennis/soccer, tutoring, speech, replacement/ temporary IDs, belts, spirit wear, lost library books, lost sports uniforms, and AP Exam Fees.
