Meet Shana Williams, Psy.D.

Dr. Williams is the Director of Psychological Services at Children’s Center for Development and Behavior.  She is a licensed clinical psychologist and has been practicing in South Florida since 1993.  Her specialties include the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of emotional and behavioral problems in children and adolescents. 
 
Dr. Williams has extensive experience in working with families to create a more positive home and school environment.  She has a collaborative style with parents,  grandparents,  teachers and school personnel, medical professionals and other important people in the Child’s life. This style enhances individual abilities across developmental stages and life experiences.
 
Dr. Williams has presented and lectured on a variety of psychotherapeutic issues including parenting skills, professional ethics and assessment methodology and interpretation, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and coping with difficult children. She is accredited with creating stress management programs for several organizations including U.S. Army installations.  Dr. Williams is a court appointed expert and advocate for Deaf and non-verbal clients.
 
Dr. Williams completed her residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Mental Health Program.  She was an adjunct professor at Carlos Albizu University, Miami, Florida where she received her doctorate. She is also affiliated with the American Psychological Association, Florida Psychological Association, Broward Mental Health Association, Non-Commissioned Officer Association, National Association of the Deaf, and Psi Chi, National Honor Society
