Meet Our Speaker
Michael A. Tompkins, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist and board certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology. He is co-director of the San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy, a Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies and on the faculty of the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. He is the author or co-author of sixteen books, including Stress Less: A Teen’s Guide to a Calm Chill Life (Magination Press, 2023). Dr. Tompkins serves on the Advisory Board of Magination Press, the children’s press of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Tompkins presents on the topic of cognitive-behavior therapy with youth to national and international audiences and his work has been highlighted by media outlets including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and the Learning Channel. He provides consultation, training, and supervision in cognitive behavior therapy and has an active clinical practice in which he provides cognitive behavior therapy to adults, adolescents, and children.
